If you have ever watched porn of any type, and you’re a thinking kind of person, you may have watched a particularly juicy scene and wondered to yourself, “Do the women actually enjoy this? By “it”, I mean the “Big ‘O’”. It is a common joke out there that women are notorious for faking their orgasms, especially when they’re with a partner who just isn’t doing it for them. So, one may wonder if the orgasms you see in porn are also fake, since the entire movie is, well, a movie. Of course, squirting orgasms are tough to fake, lol.
And from what I’ve come across, there are times that the orgasms that they’re having are real and then there are other times that things are faked. Unlike a man, who can usually orgasm if the wind blows, a woman needs some chemistry to get to that finish line. For women in the porn industry, who need to orgasm on cue, essentially, there are times that that chemistry just isn’t there and things need to be “fluffed” a bit.
Do These Female Porn Stars Regret Choosing A Career In Adult Film?

Just like any other adult sex work, some women get into porn for the wrong reasons–be it drug addiction, trauma, or being forced into sex work due to sex trafficking–and they regret what they’ve done and are doing. However, the studies have found that that number is actually quite low compared to the women who don’t regret choosing sex work as a career.
The women who stated that they don’t regret this choice stated that working in porn has given them increased self-esteem, a better body image, a sense of empowerment, and keeps them healthier because their body is their brand and they need to look and feel good to get paid. They also get to have sex for a living, which if you’re a sexual person is a dream come true.
And let’s be totally honest, the money doesn’t hurt things either.
Do They Enjoy All The “Stuff” They’re Doing on Camera?
Porn can get kind of crazy at times and there are times the scenarios we watch on screen are wild and “out there”. This question actually had a good chunk of pornstars saying that they have felt exploited and have had to do things they normally wouldn’t be comfortable doing. Which is very unfortunate and should never happen–I don’t care what career you’re in.
Fortunately, many pornstars have said that they like the fact that they get to do things that are new, different, and sexy and much of what they do is fun, enjoyable, liberating, and feeds their fantasies–something that they may not get in their personal lives. Oh, and the bonus, they’ve said, is that they get paid to do all of that!
They say there are times they do have to compromise and do things that maybe they aren’t too thrilled with, but they understand that it is just like any other job and sometimes you’ve got to do things you don’t like. In the end, though, it is for the greater good and it is totally bearable.
What About Sex Off Camera, In Their “Real” Lives?
Just like porn, enjoying sex off-camera is hit and miss. Many of these women have significant others who know that they’re in the industry and are supportive and understand it’s a job for them. They can also compartmentalize it and not try to prove something in the bedroom or feel like they could be inadequate because their partner is being satisfied day in and day out.
Female pornstars also say they compartmentalize what they do at work so it doesn’t affect what they do in the privacy of their bedroom. Work (sex) is work (sex) and home time is home time.

Every job has good things about it and bad things about it. I mean, you don’t enjoy your job every single day. Some days are easy, breezy and some are just awful, where you have to fake a smile just to make it through till quitting time.

Does porn have some downfalls, negatives, and women who regret their decision to be an adult industry worker? Of course, but thankfully it seems like in today’s world, those stories are fewer and fewer.
Working in porn is a hard job, no pun intended, and if someone chooses to do that as their career, they deserve respect and the sizable paycheck that comes (again, no pun) with being so open and “out there” on camera.
